💢 Saudi Arabia is seeking a two-week truce with Ansar Allah as pressure mounts on the kingdom from Yemen, Al-Akhbar reports. Riyadh reportedly asked Oman to convey the proposal, offering direct talks and expressing readiness to lift the blockade and allow aid into Yemen.
Ansar Allah appears unwilling to settle for a temporary pause. According to the report, it is demanding a comprehensive settlement including a full end to the air, land and sea blockade, Saudi withdrawal from Yemen’s military, security and political affairs, and compensation for war damage.
The approach comes as Ansar Allah maintains its ban on Saudi-linked shipping off Yemen while consolidating control along the Red Sea coast. Al-Akhbar says Riyadh turned toward negotiations after appeals to outside partners failed to produce the military backing it sought.
