💢 South Korea launches its first trial container voyage via the Northern Sea Route today, with PanStar Line’s 2,758-TEU PanStar Acro departing Busan for Europe. The ship will call at Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Gdansk before returning to Busan.
The vessel is expected to reach its first European port in about 18 days and Rotterdam in roughly 20 days. The trial will test sailing time, fuel consumption, operating costs and the commercial viability of the Arctic route, with Seoul seeking to establish regular services in the future.
