💢 Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani met Mossad Director Roman Gofman in Jordan on Sunday in an effort to lower tensions between Syria and Israel, Axios reported, citing two sources familiar with the meeting.
The talks came days after Israel struck the Abu al-Duhur airbase in northern Syria. Israel said the attack was intended to prevent a Turkish military buildup at the facility, while Damascus said there were no plans for a permanent Turkish military presence and that work at the base was limited to restoring it for the Syrian Air Force.
