💢 The US Congress is advancing legislation that would force the Netherlands to halt remaining ASML DUV lithography machine sales and servicing to China. The bipartisan MATCH Act gives allies 150 days to align their export controls with Washington’s or face unilateral US restrictions.
China accounted for 33% of ASML’s revenue in 2025, making the measure particularly significant for Europe’s chipmaking giant. Dutch Trade Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma has opposed the bill’s extraterritorial reach and lobbied Washington against it, but Dutch officials see little chance of stopping the measure as it moves toward inclusion in the US defense budget.
