💢 US Senator Ted Cruz has called on the Trump administration to arm anti-government protesters in Iran, including the Kurds, and let them overthrow the Iranian government without deploying American ground forces.

Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press, Cruz said Washington’s initial objective of degrading Iran’s military capacity had been achieved, but argued that the longer-term “Objective B” should be “regime collapse.”

“Arm the protesters ... arm the Kurds, and let the protesters remove this regime from power,” he said.
