Balad chairman Sami Abu Shehadeh is asking the Central Elections Committee not to disqualify him despite an article praising the achievements of the massacre. He claims that when he wrote the article on October 8, he was unaware of the scale of the massacre and that “the full extent of the atrocities had not yet become clear.”
The remarks were made in response to a petition seeking his disqualification filed by Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power).
