“Coal Eyes,” the central figure in Shlomi Eldar’s investigative report, is interviewed by Channel 12 News and gives an account that completely contradicts Eldar’s report.
1. He doesn’t deny speaking with Eldar (I don’t believe him, but fine).
2. He claims he had no understanding whatsoever that this was a threat of war—the opposite of what Eldar attributed to him.
3. He claims that Dahlan and bin Zayed also did not understand it to be a threat of war.
4. Abu Zeida claims he thought that, if it was a threat, it concerned a cell in Judea and Samaria, not Gaza—the opposite of what Eldar reported.
5. The threat was “until the end of September”; for some reason, Eldar omitted that date.
