Good week,
Just a few days ago, we completed the shiva mourning period for our beloved son, Amichai Atiya, may his memory be a blessing, who was only 17 years old.
Amichai went with his friends to a Selichot event in Hadera—and never returned home.
In a single moment, the life of a boy full of joy, values, and love for others was cut short. He was a boy whose smile never left his face, who loved Itamar, the Land of Israel, and the landscapes and trails where he grew up and hiked with all his heart.
Our home is still filled with his absence. Our hearts refuse to believe it. Yet from this immense heartbreak, we have decided to get up and take action—to carry on his path and transform our pain into an act of life, building, and continuity.
In the place Amichai loved so deeply, we will establish “Mitzpe Amichai”—the Amichai Lookout—a memorial site that will strengthen the presence in the area and help protect Itamar and its surroundings. >
