Hello Amit, my name is Noam, a friend of the late Yehuda Sherman, may his memory be a blessing.
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, in just a few hours, we will all stand in synagogues dressed for the holiday and recite the prayers of this solemn day.
Sadly, my dear friend Yehuda will not be standing there with us. Prayer was so important to Yehuda that he was willing to make tremendous sacrifices for it. Early on Shabbat mornings, he would make his way to a farm near Elon Moreh to help complete a minyan, through heat and cold, sunshine and rain.
We have launched a fundraising campaign to build a synagogue in his memory. This is a meaningful opportunity to enter Rosh Hashanah, the Day of Judgment, with the merit of helping build a mikdash me’at—a “small sanctuary”—in Yehuda’s memory.
