IDF Spokesperson:

Earlier today (Tuesday), the Head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Itzik Cohen, accepted the request of the Head of the Operations Division, Brigadier General Israel Shomer, to conclude his position and retire from the IDF for personal reasons.
Until a successor is appointed, the Head of the Planning Department in the Operations Directorate, Colonel A., will serve in his place.

The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, approved his request to retire immediately, so he will leave the service with immediate effect.
