Joint statement by Chili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel:
True friendship.
For more than 20 years, we have been neighbors and friends, sat next to each other in synagogue, and also spent several years serving together in the reserves.
We both chose to try to serve the public through the political arena as well—together in some cases and separately in others, but always with very similar ideological views.
In recent weeks, we jointly established Bayit Tzioni–HaMiluimnikim (“Zionist Home–The Reservists”), with a clear goal: to establish a Zionist government and to work to make it as broad as possible.
We are pleased that the party has gained an important and significant place, and that many have joined it. However, in light of the complex political reality, each of us has made a personal decision.
We both remain committed to serving the country and working on behalf of those who serve and for greater internal cohesion, each from his own place. What matters is that our ideological partnership remains intact, as does our belief that we will work together again in the public arena—and, of course, our friendship. Even those who search very hard will not find any trace of bad blood between us.
This is a friendship of many years, one that began before our political journey and will continue long after it.
