Nearly two years after a disciplinary investigation was opened against Roi Kahlon, then the acting Civil Service Commissioner, over allegations that he inflated his résumé while applying for senior positions in the public service, the Attorney General has decided to file disciplinary charges against him (not criminal proceedings). The decision was made with the agreement of the Haifa District Attorney, who has been overseeing the investigation.
For the past three years, Kahlon has served as head of the task force combating crime in Arab society, under the Prime Minister’s Office.
It was also decided that several specific supplementary investigative steps would be carried out and are expected to be completed within one to two weeks.
Kahlon was last questioned about a week ago. He claimed that he was being subjected to an improper campaign of persecution by the Attorney General, and further argued that she herself should have been investigated for allegedly inflating her résumé when applying for the position.
The Attorney General’s office responded: “The investigation has not yet been completed.”
