Netanyahu came to court specifically to request that the number of hearings in his trial not be increased to five days a week — out of concern for excessive pressure on the defense.

His attorney, Amit Hadad, warned: “There has never been a trial that ran five days a week, except for the Eichmann trial. That would force us to work on Shabbat and on every holiday, and even then we wouldn’t manage. It would actually prolong the trial because we’d have to bring in all the witnesses without preparation. There is absolutely no chance in the world that the trial will conclude before March 2028 (when the presiding judge, Friedman-Feldman, is set to retire).”
