Opposition figures inquired with United Torah Judaism whether they would support a constructive vote of no confidence in which Netanyahu would be replaced by another candidate.
UTJ representatives told those who asked that they would not support Lapid, and certainly not Edelstein. They suggested Gantz’s name instead.
Their understanding was that the opposition would agree only if Gantz committed not to run in future elections.
Reminder: the opposition has 52 seats, plus 7 from UTJ — just two short.
Blue and White said that no one had spoken with them about the matter.
