With the approval of the Supreme Court for the appointment of Major General Roman Gofman as head of the Mossad, the outgoing Mossad Director, David (Dadi) Barnea, sent a personal message to the organization’s employees and commanders. Barnea wrote, among other things:

“I expect all of you to stand by Major General Gofman’s side and continue assisting him as he assumes the role in the best possible way. We face complex challenges at the core of Israel’s security, in which the Mossad plays a central and influential role.
The success of Major General Gofman is the success of the Mossad and the success of the State of Israel as a whole.”

Tomorrow, June 2, 2026, a change-of-command ceremony will be held at Mossad headquarters, attended by the President of the State, Isaac Herzog, and the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
