Remember when Sami Abu Shehadeh claimed that on October 8 he had not yet become aware of the scale of the massacre, and therefore did not condemn it and spoke enthusiastically about its fruits?
Well, astonishingly, in an interview that Abu Shehadeh himself presents as evidence against his disqualification, on October 9, 2023, he responds dismissively to a question about the massacre preventing normalization with Saudi Arabia, which would also include concessions for the Palestinians.
Abu Shehadeh explains that the massacre is “a law of physics—pressure leads to an explosion.”
He then explains that the Palestinians were actually patient to have waited so long before the massacre: “Anyone who regards Palestinians as human beings must be amazed by their patience in the face of all the humiliations.”
