Shas chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri and United Torah Judaism chairman MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni in a joint statement:

“We held a meeting today with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and conveyed to him, on behalf of the great rabbis of Israel, a clear and unequivocal demand to immediately advance the Basic Law: Torah Study and the law to stop the arrests of Torah students, by convening the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the Knesset Committee this week.
*We made it clear that if we do not see concrete action as we demanded, we will support the dissolution of the Knesset as early as next week.*
The Prime Minister made clear in the meeting that he is committed to passing the laws and will work for their rapid advancement.”
