**Statement from the Attorney General**

In a highly unusual move, and in light of inaccurate reports, the Attorney General wishes to clarify that in a country governed by the rule of law, citizens or elected officials cannot be investigated without evidence that justifies such an investigation.

If the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) or any other body possesses evidence that warrants an investigation, it is invited to present it.

Anyone who needs to be investigated will be investigated, but no one will be investigated without an evidentiary basis.

Furthermore, for the past two days, the Shin Bet has failed to transfer the investigative materials it has collected to the special investigative team established following Justice Solberg’s recommendation, in cooperation with the police and under the supervision of the State Attorney’s Office. As a result, the handling of the matter is effectively being delayed.

Law enforcement authorities are acting swiftly and professionally to uncover the truth based on the evidence available to them, and investigative decisions will be made accordingly.
