Three years after the massacre, the IDF launched a large-scale operation overnight to demolish dozens of memorials glorifying terrorism in Judea and Samaria.
The IDF sent a notice to residents stating: “The security forces will not allow incitement to terrorism or the glorification and praise of terrorists. Anyone who glorifies terrorism or supports it will be arrested on charges of incitement, and any memorial erected to honor terrorists will be demolished. Terrorism has brought, and will bring, nothing but destruction and devastation, just as Hamas has brought devastation upon the Gaza Strip for years.”
Minister Bezalel Smotrich and MK Zvi Sukkot welcomed the move: “The State of Israel is uprooting the infrastructure of incitement to terrorism.”
