A former Mossad operative helped Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro flee to the United States, according to a report attributed to CNN.
The report claims that the former Israeli intelligence operative, who holds American citizenship, helped organize a covert escape dubbed “Operation Elba.” Preparations reportedly began before Brazil’s presidential election.
According to the account, Bolsonaro traveled by car from Brasília to Argentina, while his family traveled separately. They then boarded a private jet bound for Miami. The report also alleges that Trump associate Jason Miller helped arrange the flight and that Santiago Caputo, an adviser to Argentine President Javier Milei, oversaw the border crossing.
The reported departure followed a disputed election marked by allegations of irregularities and controversial extensions of voting hours. Those allegations should be distinguished from established findings.
The report further claims that, within hours of Bolsonaro’s defeat, federal authorities opened a money-laundering investigation and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered his passports canceled and confiscated and imposed a travel ban.
Brazilian authorities are now reportedly considering freezing his assets and bank accounts.
