AFTER 44 YEARS: REMAINS OF LAST MISSING SOLDIER FROM SULTAN YACOUB REPORTEDLY LOCATED

According to reports, the remains of IDF soldier Yehuda Katz, who has been missing since the Battle of Sultan Yacoub in Lebanon in June 1982, have been located.

The Battle of Sultan Yacoub was one of the most painful battles of the First Lebanon War. Three Israeli soldiers - Zachary Baumel, Zvi Feldman, and Yehuda Katz - remained missing for decades.

Baumel’s remains were recovered and returned to Israel in 2019.

Feldman’s remains were recovered in 2025 after 43 years.

Yehuda Katz remained the last missing soldier from that battle.

If today’s report is officially confirmed, it will bring to an end a painful 44-year chapter and once again demonstrate Israel’s commitment to bringing its fallen soldiers home - no matter how many years have passed.
