As much as we love our countries and strive to be patriotic - as we should - let us never forget a simple truth: the present world order and its governments are temporary. They will one day undergo a dramatic transformation, most likely following events such as the war of Ezekiel 38 and the Lord’s divine intervention (Ezekiel 38-39).
The book of Revelation describes a future concentration of political power in the hands of a small group of rulers united under the Antichrist. Whether that coalition emerges from existing organizations like the G7 or from an entirely new framework remains unknown. What Revelation does make clear is that a relatively small number of rulers will act in unity and eventually surrender their authority to one leader:
“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.”
(Revelation 17:12-13 NKJV)
These ten kings could represent:
▪️Ten individual nations
▪️Ten regional blocs
▪️Ten leaders representing larger coalitions
▪️A reorganized global governance structure that does not presently exist
One thing, however, remains certain. While we should pray for our countries and for those who lead them (1 Timothy 2:1-2), we must never forget the temporary nature of both. Our greatest concern should be to ensure that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 21:27).
As the prophet Daniel declared:
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
(Daniel 2:44 NKJV)
Being removed from this evil world into the everlasting presence of our beloved Messiah - and ultimately to our eternal residence in the New Jerusalem, according to His promise - is our blessed hope!
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
(John 14:1-3 NKJV)
As much as we love our countries and strive to be patriotic - as we should - let us never forget a s
