What we believed was an alliance founded on shared values turned out to be one governed by interests.

This should not surprise students of Bible prophecy. Israel has always appreciated the support of nations, but our ultimate trust has never been in princes or governments.

“Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.”
(Psalm 146:3 NKJV)

Nations act according to their interests. God acts according to His covenant.

And while friends may disappoint and alliances may shift, the God of Israel remains faithful forever.
