People often ask me how I can be so alarmed by the current shift in U.S. policy toward Israel while at the same time teach that such developments were predicted in Scripture.

That is an excellent question.

As believers, we are often torn between what we know and what we see. We know the direction in which this fallen world is heading, yet we still grieve over it and resist every attempt to pressure us into becoming part of its rebellion against God.

In the case of the current U.S. administration’s turn against Israel, it hurts even more because it is being carried out by the most pro-Israel president America has ever had.

You may ask, “Amir, what is the point of resisting and speaking out against things that are already foretold?”

This is exactly where we must remember two truths from Scripture.

Although we are in this world, we are not of this world. As our Messiah said:

“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”

(John 17:16 NKJV)

And Paul wrote:

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

(Galatians 6:9 NKJV)

Though we know what God has foretold, we are still called to stand for what is right and not grow weary in doing good.

My dear brothers and sisters, our hearts are going to break many times because of the things we are about to witness in this world.

In fact, neither the rapture nor even our return with the Lord to reign during the thousand-year Kingdom will completely remove the reality of man’s fallen nature. At the end of the greatest theocracy the world will ever know - with Yeshua Himself reigning from Jerusalem - Satan will be released from his prison and will deceive multitudes into joining him in what will become the greatest rebellion in human history.

“Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.”

(Revelation 20:7–8 NKJV)

Yes, our hearts will be broken, and we will shed many tears. But only in the New Jerusalem will we finally enjoy a world free from sin and sorrow.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

(Revelation 21:4 NKJV)

Therefore, let me encourage you to remain gracious and to rejoice in the Lord - not in the world - as we eagerly await our Messiah, who is coming to take us to be with Him.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!”

(Philippians 4:4 NKJV)

And as Paul wrote:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

(1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)
