The last weekend before the U.S. midterm elections is approaching. The Iranians understand two things: the American military buildup in the Middle East is at its peak, and the assessment is that Trump is determined to strike shortly after the midterms - specifically, the following weekend.

The question now is: Will the Islamic Republic launch a preemptive strike to minimize the damage from another U.S.-led surprise attack?
