Why is the Feast of Tabernacles called the final feast?

Because it’s the seventh and last of the Lord’s appointed feasts—coming after Israel celebrates Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

During Sukkot, Jewish people built small shelters called ""sukkahs"" to remember their time in the wilderness after the Exodus—temporary dwellings that reminded them of God’s provision and presence.

This final feast completes God’s story of redemption.

It points from those temporary shelters to the promise of His eternal dwelling with His people. It’s a glimpse of what’s to come—a time when those who believe in Jesus, our Passover Lamb and risen Lord, will see this promise fulfilled in His Kingdom.
