• The yen rallied from near 40-year lows past 164/dollar toward 157, though it has since given back about half those gains.
• Goldman says Japan holds roughly $200 billion in ready cash for further rounds, out of $1 trillion in reserves.
• "It ultimately just buys some time" — a lasting fix needs the BOJ to deliver a rate hike at its September meeting, now priced at 65% odds.
