π Introducing the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index
S&P Dow Jones Indices, Pantera Capital and Artemis launched a new benchmark that only includes crypto tokens whose protocols have posted consecutive quarters of positive revenue accruing to tokenholders, modeled on the S&P 500's financial-viability screen. The index launched July 20, 2026 with 18 constituents (including Hyperliquid, Solana and AAVE) representing over $3 billion in trailing two-quarter annualized protocol revenue, and Pantera says backtests show it outperforming S&P's broad digital-asset benchmark with or without Bitcoin. For fintech investors, this is a concrete step toward institutional-grade, fundamentals-based crypto index products β the kind of benchmark that could underpin future ETFs.
