We're Hiring — Maintenance Technician

Al Fakher Iraq, a leading company in the Tobacco & Molasses (Shisha Tobacco) Manufacturing Industry, is looking for an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Technician to join our growing team.

📍 Location: Jurf Al-Nadaf, Baghdad, Iraq

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to work daily alongside the Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor in performing general factory maintenance—including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and critical cooling infrastructure work—to ensure all facilities and equipment remain in safe operating condition.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize strong knowledge and practical hands-on experience to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair factory HVAC and cooling systems, as this is a primary requirement for the role. 
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. 
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools. - Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment. 
- Execute diverse maintenance duties including pipe fitting, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, installing and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. 
- Ensure the factory, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations. 
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure their continuous availability during working hours. 
- Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and adhere strictly to company health and safety policies. 
- Complete all tasks delegated by the Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or Contractors.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. 
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in assets repair and maintenance.

Skills & Knowledge
- Proven ability to perform general maintenance repairs and safely operate power tools, hand tools, and other machinery. 
- Deep technical understanding of HVAC and industrial cooling systems maintenance. 
- Good computer skills along with strong written and verbal communication abilities. 
- Strong competencies in organization, time management, interpersonal relations, and teamwork. 
- High commitment to accountability, results orientation, cultural awareness, ethics, and integrity.
