FBI agents found 298 gold bars during a search of his home.
Prosecutors say the 49-year-old, who had a security clearance, created a fake classified program.
About $145 million went toward luxury property, watches and cars, while $46 million was used to buy gold.
May searches also uncovered about $2.1 million in cash and โฌ105,000. Rush agreed to forfeit the property, 30 watches, two BMWs and all the gold bars. Sentencing is set for 28 January.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.
