📈 How stocks are getting their own memecoins

⚫️ Yesterday, we looked at how tokenized stocks have become one of crypto’s newest metas — and how that trend is slowly making its way to TON. Today, let’s keep going and take a look at a few memecoins launched in pairs with these assets. Needless to say, this is not financial advice — just something to make your Friday a little more entertaining.

⚫️ Over the past few days, an unwritten rule has already emerged on Robinhood Chain: pretty much every popular stock now seems to need its own memecoin. Here are a few examples:

— FLYBRAIN against GOOGL. You’ve probably already seen the story about an enthusiast who got a digitized fly brain to trade crypto. The market reacted exactly as you’d expect, spawning dozens of memecoins around the story. The biggest winner so far is $FLYBRAIN: it trades against tokenized Alphabet stock and currently sits at around a $15.5M market cap.

— MEME against AMC. Back in 2021, the US movie theater chain was on the brink of bankruptcy when Reddit traders piled into the stock and triggered a massive short squeeze. AMC ripped higher, while funds betting against it took heavy losses. Five years later, the ticker has been given a new meaning: “A Meme Coin.” The token currently sits at around a $50M market cap.

— FATCOIN against LLY. Eli Lilly makes Mounjaro and Zepbound, two of the most popular drugs used for diabetes treatment and weight loss. The market clearly liked the joke behind the token’s name: FATCOIN is currently hovering around a $5M market cap.

— NUDES against SNAP. Snapchat got paired with a token called NUDES. We probably don’t need to explain this one. Its market cap is also sitting at around $5M.

And if Telegram ever went public, what would its memecoin be called?
