⚫️️️️ Over the past year, Resistor has single-handedly built an entire suite of Resistance tools on TON — many of which we’ve covered before: Resistance Tools, Tonnet Browser, Teleton Agent, gateways for TON Sites, tools for TON Storage, ZK pools, and other infrastructure.
⚫️️️️ Right now, Resistor needs financial support to keep working independently on these tools and maintain the services that are already live. We’ve included more details on how to help at the end of the post. But first, we sat down with him for a short conversation about how he got into TON and what he expects from MTONGA.
— How did you first get into TON, and what were you doing before that?
Hey, I don’t really remember the first time. But I already had a wallet before @wallet was inside Telegram. Once it was integrated, I became much more active on TON. Back then, you could send crypto in inline mode with @wallet. That was awesome.
— You’ve been actively building Web3 tools on TON, and in the chat you even called the TON Primer your “bible.” What do you think is the real strength of Web3 on TON? After all, TON is far from the only ecosystem trying to build a decentralized internet.
Most blockchains start as a ledger [systems for keeping track of who owns what, who sent what to whom and so on — The Daily TON], then try to become “the new internet.” In facts, they just built Finance 3.0.
TON is built different, as a network first, then the blockchain is built on top of it. Naming, storage, proxying, sites and more are part of one stack. Not any other chain have done it.
— Your productivity is kind of insane — in just one year, you built Resistance Tools, Teleton, Tonnet Browser, and a lot more. I assume you use AI agents for coding, right? How much have you already spent on tokens?
Yes, that’s right. I haven’t kept exact track, but it’s been a lot. I think I’ve burned through more than a billion tokens by now.
— Out of everything already built into TON’s infrastructure, what do you think is the most underrated part right now?
Almost everyone building on TON today is making Mini Apps, bots, or launching memecoins.
But people forget about the parts that actually make TON unique: ADNL, DHT, overlays, TON DNS, TON Sites, TON Proxy, TON Storage, and so on. That’s the real Web3 layer, and almost nobody is building on it yet.
— If you could change just one thing about TON, what would it be?
If I could change one thing, I’d probably make communication more transparent. For example, I’d like to see a public and detailed explanation of what exactly it means for Telegram to replace the TON Foundation.
— Over the past month, the mood around TON across the ecosystem seems to have changed quite a lot. Are you still positive about TON and MTONGA?
MTONGA is basically a continuation of TON’s original roadmap. What I’m waiting to see now is how exactly Telegram replaces the TON Foundation. It’s already been three months, and so far the community hasn’t been shown much.
— Has anyone reached out after your request to offer financial support?
No, unfortunately. So far, I’ve only had suggestions to create NFTs or memecoins.
