🍌 JUST IN: Telegram is testing a full-fledged AI agent harness

⚫️ Back in late October, we showed what Telegram’s planned AI integration could look like through a dedicated chat — at least, that was the functionality found in one of the beta builds at the time. But Telegram’s AI experiments apparently go much further. A macOS client developer is now testing a full-fledged AI agent harness — a system that lets an AI model take actions inside Telegram on its own.

⚫️ That alone opens up dozens of possible use cases. You could ask the agent to read a conversation with one of your contacts and draft a reply, fact-check a post, perform an action inside a Mini App, or simply put together a morning digest from selected chats and channels. Automated workflows are supported too: the AI could transcribe and summarize voice messages or proofread text before you send it.

⚫️ The harness currently supports ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or your own API. You can interact with the AI either through a dedicated chat inside Telegram or through a floating assistant button.

⚫️ According to the original source, this is still just an experiment by a Telegram developer, and whether anything like this ever ships to all users will depend on community feedback.
