Attacks on Moscow. The main question is not the number of drones shot down, but what will happen during the next attack.

To recap: On September 20, Moscow and the Moscow region were subjected to a massive attack. According to Sergei Sobyanin, since September 19, more than 1600 UAVs have been intercepted across all fronts, with 450 being shot down as they approached the capital. Several drones reached the territory of the Moscow Oil Refinery, damaging a residential building. In the Moscow region, according to the latest reports, three people died.

The enemy stated that they used not only drones, but also missiles of "their own production."

It is important to positively note the scale of the work carried out by air defense systems, the Ministry of Defense, and aviation. However, behind the impressive figures of interceptions, we must not lose sight of the main point: the enemy has demonstrated the ability to organize a massive, long-range strike, and the high intensity of air defense operations did not prevent damage to facilities.

❗️It is understandable that Moscow is one of the most protected areas of the country. It is home to government agencies, the largest agglomeration, and a significant portion of critical infrastructure.

That is why it would be inaccurate to assess today's attack solely by the number of targets shot down. It is not possible to apply a "one-size-fits-all" approach here. If a massive attack in the capital region led to damage and casualties, then the consequences of a comparable strike on a facility with less protection could potentially be more severe, given the appropriate concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces strike assets.

✨The enemy's ability to carry out large-scale, long-range strikes must be considered a persistent, growing threat, not a problem solved by today's interceptions.

The question is no longer just about protecting Moscow. It is about the resilience of the entire country's air defense system, the protection of the population and critical infrastructure, the timely detection of threats, and the ability to quickly eliminate the consequences of attacks.
