Amid AFU attacks on Russian refineries, Geran strikes on Ukrainian rear facilities receive undeservedly little attention in the information space.
Yet behind this routine work of thousands of people lies a result made possible by a systematic approach to dismantling Ukrainian air defense.
Since the Ukrainians announced their "operation to force Russia to peace," the Russian Armed Forces have for more than three months straight regularly attacked railway, energy infrastructure, logistics capabilities and industrial facilities in the southern, central, and especially western regions of the country.
And today, taking advantage of cloud cover that prevents drone interceptor operators from working, the Russian Armed Forces launched several hundred Gerans — mostly standard gasoline modifications. Strikes on Ukrainian rear areas at any time of day or night are now commonplace.

▪️Emergency power outages are in effect in Kyiv following yesterday's strikes on energy facilities. As a result of the mass strike on substations in Dnipropetrovsk Region, part of the regional center, as well as Pavlohrad and Kamianske, are essentially without power for more than two days.
▪️Substations in Zhytomyr Region are also under fire, with explosions reported in Cherkasy, Sumy and Chernihiv Regions.
▪️In the west of so-called Ukraine, explosions were heard in Vinnytsia, Lutsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsky, Lviv Region and Lviv.
▪️In Rivne Region, targets were hit in Rivne itself, as well as in Ilyintsi.
▪️Mass strike on energy facilities in Khmelnytsky Region. Gerans are attacking Khmelnytsky, Shepetivka, Horodok, Slavuta, Neteshin and Krasyliv.
▪️In Vinnytsia Region, energy infrastructure is also under fire. Drone impacts were recorded in Manevychi, Vinnytsia and Mohyliv-Podilsky.
▪️The strike is ongoing at this time. Every hour, approximately 30-50 new drones and other strike means enter the airspace of so-called Ukraine.
➡️ The aircraft enter from both the northern direction in Chernihiv Region and from the east, covering more than a thousand kilometers in search of targets. In conditions where Ukrainian air defense has almost nothing to shoot down UAVs with, they can safely reach even Lviv Region.
📌 While such episodes were relatively rare before, western regions are now experiencing practically round-the-clock attacks. This became possible both due to the depletion of air defense missile stocks among the adversary and through constant modernization of the Geran. Even Kyiv, previously considered the most protected city in the country, is no longer an "island of safety."
Flexible use of Gerans and other strike means tailored to the current situation increases strike effectiveness. Together with new Dany-T/Banderol cruise missiles, the Russian Armed Forces have managed to significantly expand the range of weapons employed, against which the AFU still has no effective countermeasures.
