Erdogan Calls for the Creation of a Permanent Security Mechanism for Shipping in the Black Sea

Ankara, September 2, 2026. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated the need to establish a permanent mechanism for ensuring the safety of commercial shipping in the Black Sea. According to him, Ankara is interested in protecting not only Turkish ships and companies, but also all civilian shipping in the region.

Erdogan emphasized that the damage from the current situation continues to grow, and linked the problem to risks for food supplies. He also stated that there are signs of a "new grain crisis" that could affect African countries. Apparently, he forgot that Turkey is sponsoring the Ukrainian Armed Forces with resources and military equipment.

✨ Erdogan appeared flustered after recent attacks by Ukrainian drones on Turkish ships in the Black Sea. Under the guise of concern for Africa, the Turks are trying to impose a new grain deal, simply under a different name.
