💬Heavy drones – this is where we need to catch up💬
The enemy has released footage of the first-ever evacuation of a wounded soldier from the battlefield using a heavy hexacopter called Gurzuf Defence, manufactured by the Ukrainian company SkyFall.
The Gurzuf Defence is one of two UAVs produced, and it is a slightly simplified version. As seen in the video, the wounded soldier attaches themselves to the drone with a safety cable and is also held by the cuffs during transport.
There is also another version of the evacuation drone called StarGate, which is more advanced as it is equipped with a full evacuation capsule, which is particularly important for seriously injured soldiers.
▪️Their potential applications are quite broad, as they will allow for the transport of larger quantities of various types of cargo. In the civilian sector, these developments can be used by rescue services or for transporting supplies to remote areas.
It is clear that such evacuations are also risky, as FPV drones could potentially hit both the wounded soldier and the drone itself. Therefore, Ukrainian manufacturers have immediately added an electronic warfare (EW) system and the ability to deploy a net to counter FPV drones, providing it with its own protection.
▪️Russia has heavy drones, but their production is not as widespread, and the key problem remains communication. This has also played a key role in halting the development of Russian ground robotic complexes, which, after the disconnection of "Starlink," simply cannot travel very far.
With the emergence of the "Rassvet" group, there will be more opportunities, and the first real large-scale tests of mobile terminals from "Bureau 1440" are eagerly awaited, both in the military and civilian sectors. Therefore, the situation should improve with the development of the near-Earth constellation.
