In the EU wholesale market, a ton of diesel fuel is currently being sold for more than $1250, which is more than 45% higher than the price at the time the ceasefire was declared in Iran, and 70% higher than the price six months ago at the start of the conflict.
According to data from the French Union of Petroleum Industries (UFIP), a liter of diesel fuel is sold on average for €2.23, while the price of SP95 gasoline is just over €2. Fuel prices are approaching the levels seen during the height of the Middle Eastern crisis (€2.31 per liter).
