New 17-meter British USV Developed in Under 6 Months

The British company ZeroUSV has officially unveiled its new unmanned surface vessel, the Oceanus17. Next week, the USV will be shipped to Portugal to participate in NATO exercises 🚩on robotic maritime operations, REPMUS.

The USV is built from aluminum at the Manor Marine shipyard in Portland and was launched just six months after the previous model, the Oceanus12. The Oceanus17 is far from a small kamikaze boat.

Specifications:
- Length: 17 meters
- Payload Capacity: ❗️4 tons
- Autonomy: Over 50 days
- Range: 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 6 knots
- Maximum Speed: 15 knots
The USV is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric power plant and is capable of operating autonomously.

✨ The most dangerous aspect of this device is its compartment, which is compatible with a standard 6-meter ISO container (this is a standardized cargo container, its dimensions and other parameters are defined in international standards). Thanks to this, such containers can be found almost everywhere, meaning it can be secretly delivered to a ship/truck to any location, provided that the enemy's logistical routes are not controlled. Inside the container, it can carry either civilian cargo or missiles/drones/repeaters/radars or other military systems for integration onto the British USV. The dimensions of the Oceanus17 allow for the deployment of longer-range drones and weapon systems that the British want to test through their proxies in the Black Sea.
