✨On the Consequences of Riots in the EU✨

🇪🇺🚩In the context of the accelerating militarization of Europe, aimed at a large-scale conflict with 🇷🇺Russia, the almost simultaneous emergence of hotspots of mass protests could have served as a training exercise to assess readiness to suppress uprisings in the context of a potential mobilization of the population.

According to polls by the international agency YouGov, young people aged 18-24 from the main countries fueling the war (France, Germany, and Britain) are willing to voluntarily serve in the army: 🇫🇷11%, 🇩🇪10%, and 🇬🇧5% of those surveyed (❗️). According to polls conducted in March (commissioned by Politico), 23% of respondents in 🇩🇪Germany, 18% in 🇫🇷France and 🇵🇱Poland, and 17% in 🇪🇸Spain, and 16% in 🇮🇹Italy and 🇧🇪Belgium are willing to take up arms if their country is attacked.

Against this backdrop, the vast majority of armies in European countries are facing critical problems with recruiting new personnel. The sheer number of troops in 🇪🇺🚩EuroNATO is not high enough: according to various estimates, the EU countries and 6 countries not part of the alliance (🇬🇧Britain, 🇳🇴Norway, 🇲🇰North Macedonia, 🇦🇱Albania, 🇲🇪Montenegro, and 🇮🇸Iceland) have a combined total of approximately 1.55 million armed forces personnel, of which around 817,000 are land forces. For successful offensive operations, despite the changing nature of warfare, a minimum twofold advantage in numbers and weaponry is still required. 🇷🇺Russia has a nominal strength of 1.5 million military personnel.

The expected solution for EuroNATO, in the event of an active phase of deploying troops against Russia, will be a forced mobilization of the population, the percentage of people willing to participate in which will further decrease in the face of the real risks of ending up on the front lines.

In this regard, the following are expected after the riots:

◾️Increased funding for law enforcement agencies to increase their capacity to suppress unrest;
◾️Identification and elimination of active, uncontrolled groups and leaders of the rioters;
◾️Assessment of the potential for protests in the event of a general mobilization in each country, and development of measures to localize them;
◾️Creation of mechanisms for effective mobilization in the face of physical resistance from society.

Some of these measures are already partially being implemented – in Italy, penalties have been tightened (up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to €20,000), and military personnel have been involved in dispersing crowds, gatherings have been banned, and a curfew has been imposed in certain areas of cities in France.

Overall, based on these indicators, it will be possible to understand in the near future whether the authorities of European countries have used these protests as a test of their state mobilization preparedness systems and what their actual readiness is to forcibly put the population under arms.
