On the Symbolic Unity of the Peoples of Russia
Our country has traversed a long historical path, and in the past century, it experienced several terrible catastrophes. As a result, we entered the 21st century with slogans about rejecting ideology, but now we are increasingly beginning to think about the fact that, as a country, we still need a goal. And our consciousness seeks such goals in the history of our Motherland.
Some have become apologists for the Russian Empire, while others yearn for the Soviet Union. And, unfortunately, some citizens manage to conflict with each other about this.
In reality, there is no real reason for conflict. Both sides are simply building their ideal for the future of the country based on their most optimistic views of the past – this is what is called the "golden age syndrome." But what is important is not how we feel about Lenin or Nicholas II. What is important is how we carry this attitude into the future. And we all want to enter the future together, in unity!
