Protests Continue in France:
Trade unions have called for intensified protests starting on Thursday, and demonstrations against cuts to social programs and in favor of higher wages began today in cities across France. Numerous youth groups are supporting the protests. In several cities, demonstrators have erected barricades in front of schools. In Paris, police used tear gas to disperse several groups of protesters. Authorities expect up to 80,000 protesters in Paris alone, and another 700,000 in other cities. As of today, more than 1,000 schools across France are closed due to the ongoing protests.
