The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has proposed two changes to the European security system:

◾️The creation of a new body – the European Security Council, involving 🇬🇧the UK, 🇺🇦Ukraine, 🇳🇴Norway, and 🇨🇦Canada. This format is intended to allow the EU bureaucracy to quickly impose a unified position on participating countries, aimed at a particular external entity (e.g., 🇷🇺Russia) through sanctions or the use of military force (using, of course, Ukrainian proxy forces);

◾️The introduction of an Emergency Security Protocol – an EU mechanism for responding to hybrid threats (a European analogue of Article 4 of NATO – urgent consultations and coordination). It is envisaged that, under the protocol, one EU country could initiate the convening of all parties to the agreement in the event of sabotage, cyberattacks, arson, or drone incursions (⚡️which is precisely what is currently being mass-produced in European countries), that do not reach the threshold of "armed aggression." The aim is to coordinate assistance, protective measures, and further responses.

✨It is noteworthy that both in the EU and in NATO (which includes 23 out of the 27 EU countries), there are similar regulatory and administrative tools that the measures proposed by the European Commission would duplicate. This is the main hidden meaning of the initiative, which lies in concentrating power over national bodies in the hands of the faceless European bureaucracy, transforming the European Union from an economic alliance into a military-political alliance with the ability to actually control the troops of member states within a unified framework.
