The German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, has stated that the friendship between Germany and the United States, which developed after World War II, has come to an end. The reason for the rift is the growing tension between Washington and Berlin, as well as threats from Donald Trump to impose new tariffs against the European Union, according to Bloomberg.
"Across the Atlantic, we are witnessing a shift in political views, a change in attitude towards the transatlantic alliance, which just recently seemed impossible to us," the German politician concluded.
