🇱🇹💥The Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) has approved, in the initial stage, an amendment that would remove the prohibition on the deployment of weapons of mass destruction and foreign military bases from the constitution.

Article 137 of the constitution states that weapons of mass destruction and military bases of foreign states cannot be located on the territory of Lithuania. To amend the constitution, two more votes are required, with a minimum interval of three months between them, and a minimum of 94 votes in favor out of 141 in each vote. The final adoption is scheduled for January 12, 2027.

✨This change is primarily intended to legalize the German 🇩🇪 45th Transgender Tank Brigade, which has been deployed in the country since 2025, which effectively violated the constitution of this swampy state.

The part concerning foreign weapons of mass destruction is more populist in nature and, in fact, does not guarantee the deployment of nuclear weapons storage facilities in Lithuania. ⚡️More likely, it guarantees that Lithuanian territory will be included in the list of priority targets for strikes by Russian strategic nuclear weapons 💥.

At the same time, this step aligns with the trend of nuclear escalation among countries in the 🇪🇺🚩Euro-NATO alliance, which are one by one expressing support for providing such guarantees from 🇫🇷France and 🇬🇧Great Britain. Previously, starting July 1, 2026, the deployment of foreign nuclear weapons was permitted in 🇫🇮Finland. This topic is being discussed in other countries of the 🇪🇪🇱🇻Baltic states and in 🇩🇪Germany.
