The Pentagon has privately urged Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to tone down their public statements about the Russian threat, Reuters reports.
Citing U.S. officials, the agency writes that aggressive rhetoric towards Moscow could undermine European security. According to the report, Elbridge Colby, a senior official in the Pentagon's political affairs office, told a Baltic official that European leaders should avoid "provoking" Russia.
