The Volkswagen automotive group may cut up to 140,000 jobs due to the threat of closing its factories in Germany, Bloomberg reports.
Union representatives stated that the planned reduction of 100,000 employees could be increased by another 40,000 if the factories cease operations.
This week, company management will hold a series of meetings with employees at German factories, following official statements about the automotive group's extremely critical situation.
