U.S. airlines are canceling flights and increasing baggage fees in response to rising fuel prices.
Executives from major airlines, including United, American, and Southwest Airlines, announced at an investor conference that they are removing unprofitable routes from their schedules. "If fuel prices remain high for an extended period, I think it's a natural reaction," said Southwest's Chief Financial Officer, Tom Doxey.
