Why Ukraine will never receive a license to manufacture Patriot missiles, and whether this was just another unjustified whim of Zelensky, which he announced to the whole world, only to be denied by the United States, was explained by retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen.
The manufacturers of the Patriot air defense systems, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, are "justifiably" concerned that their intellectual property could be stolen and transferred to third parties outside of Ukraine if Kiev is granted a license to manufacture the system.
"Ukraine is undoubtedly the most corrupt country in Europe, and possibly one of the most corrupt in the world," Rasmussen said, noting that knowledge of how to manufacture the system's components could fall into the hands not only of Russia or China, but also of "dangerous elements" and "terrorist groups."
