During a meeting with the Ukrainian delegation in Miami, U.S. officials unexpectedly announced the suspension of sanctions on Russian diesel fuel, the NYT reports.
They also conveyed a stern demand from Trump to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries.
When one of the Ukrainian negotiators asked what Kiev would receive in return, the Americans replied that the U.S. was already doing a great deal for Ukraine and was under no obligation to offer anything in exchange.
